The Older Cats Society was one of the first Guilds I joined after becoming a member of CLAW in May, 1998. When the original CLAW closed in August, 2000, the OCS became independent. My memories of those first years are included in my Tribute to CLAW. After CLAW reopened, OCS became an affiliate, but retained its independence.

These are OCS mementoes and awards that I received during 2000-2001. Each month, we are challenged to use our imagination and creative skills. In October 2000, OCS had a Halloween scavenger hunt. Each hidden prey led to the next participant's web site. Spike used her PSP tools to advantage, making all the graphics and awards.

The following month, we made gifts for the OCS Christmas tree. What fun we had opening them! The theme for February was "Love." Among other things, we were given the opportunity to have secret pals. This was the first time I ever participated in a secret pal program. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to disguise my identity, but it was fun to try. I was "mewr secret pal" to Conor and I suspect he guessed this before the month was over. Gigi was so clever that I was completely surprised when she revealed her identity. She made a personalized snow globe for me. It's so pretty!

The OCS theme for March 2001 was "Kitty Shelters." We mewed about the ways we can help kitties who are less fortunate than we are. We also participated in the CLAW Shelter Support Fair. Other activities during the past year included writing poetry, solving puzzles, hunts, and contests. Some of these are archived; you will find links to them on the OCS Activity Page.

This is the entry that Conor and his sister Annie submitted for the OCS Banner Contest. It won 1st prize!

In November 2001, an Award Ceremony was held in CLAW Theater. I was very honored when Spike presented these beautiful awards to me:

  

Members made Hugs Posters for the OCS booth at the 2001 CLAW Sizzling Summer Flea Market. This is one of my favorites. It was made by my friend Sasha Brewer.
